We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand toward raising a youth is a major part of preparing our future.
Welcome to Young Leaders Empowerment Action (YLEA), a dynamic and impactful non-governmental organization dedicated to shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Founded in Cameroon in January 2021, our journey began with a vision of creating a brighter future for young individuals, equipping them with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Our Story
The seeds of YLEA were sown by our founder, Ebai Derrick and his team of like-minded friends: Taku Gilbert and Sone Chris who recognized the challenges faced by the youth in our society. Witnessing the socio-political crisis and its impact on education and opportunities, we embarked on a journey to make a difference. From those initial steps to address these challenges in our own small way, YLEA has evolved into a platform for transformative change.

Our Impact
At YLEA, our mission is to positively impact the lives of individuals and families across Cameroon. Since our inception in July 2021, we have already made a significant difference in the lives of over 250 families in different parts of the country, including Mamfe, Kumba, Bali, and beyond. We are committed to expanding our reach to help even more affected people.
One of the key reasons for our success has been our focus on empowering young people from diverse backgrounds. Their unique perspectives and experiences have been instrumental in helping us identify and address the broken parts of society. We are inspired by their resilience and determination to overcome challenges and thrive.
To support young people, we have established several projects aimed at providing sustainable livelihoods and restoring social positions. Our efforts have included training programs, mentorship initiatives, and community development projects. Through these activities, we have helped young people gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in life.
At YLEA, we are dedicated to working closely with communities to identify their needs and develop targeted solutions. We believe that by empowering individuals and families, we can create a brighter and more prosperous future for everyone. We are committed to continuing our work and expanding our reach to help as many people as possible.
