Program Success:
The conference proceeded as planned, with engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and valuable insights shared by Dr. Asonganyi. The kids in attendance displayed an impressive level of comprehension and actively participated in the interactive exercises. This demonstrated their eagerness to learn and their commitment to making informed choices.
Turnout and Challenges:
While the turnout was commendable, we acknowledge that the heavy rainfall on the day of the event may have deterred some attendees due to transportation difficulties. Despite this, the audience was filled with engaged and eager participants, representing a diverse cross-section of our community.
Distinguished Guests:
We were honored to have the Mayor of the Kumba City Council, Mr. Greg Mewanu, as a patron of the conference. His impact added prestige to the event and highlighted the importance of our cause. We also had a strong presence of distinguished parents who came along to support this conference alongside their kids.
Additionally, several local radio stations, including “Ocean City Radio,” covered the conference, amplifying its reach and impact.
Reflecting on the Future:
One of the most meaningful aspects of the conference was the time dedicated to introspection and envisioning the future of our youth. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions about the aspirations of our young generation and the steps needed to guide them in the right direction. This reflection reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing a community where every youth has the opportunity to flourish.
In conclusion, the Youth Conference on the Fight Against Drug Abuse was a momentous gathering that succeeded in its mission of raising awareness and empowering our youth. We extend our gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporters for contributing to this significant event. Together, we can continue to inspire positive change and create a brighter future for our community’s youth.
Taku Gilbert,
The program Director.
